"the outsider"

Detective suspense grooves fuelled with heavy drum breaks and uptempo tension themes, the outsider could be a library of sounds and grooves for a 60s spy movie as seen through the eyes of a classical trained boom bap producer. Chase scenes and underworld inspired atmospheres put you in a police flick mood full of action and drama.

Recorded between London and Lausanne in the period 2017-2018 using Akai MPC 3000, Ensoniq EPS-16+, Rhodes Stage 73, Roland JX-3P and Tascam 414 mkIi.

When i first heard this jam, it reminded me of Lewis Parker's compositional styles and also the Dramatic Funk Themes of the 60s-70s British Library houses, just with a simple difference..the rare grooves were replaced by hard boom bap hitters.

The organic approach to this album makes it feel like it was unearthed from the vaults of Conroy, De Wolfe or Hudson Music.
