"oneirology"

Oneirology (from Greek ὄνειρον, oneiron = "dream";
and -λογία, -logia = "the study of") is the scientific study of dreams. Current research seeks correlations between dreaming
and current knowledge about the functions of the brain, as well as understanding of how the brain works during dreaming as pertains to memory formation and mental disorders.

Italian visionary beat smith kuranes presents a collection of sonic collage adventures in an attempt to explore the mechanisms of dreaming through mini sound trips. Voyages to other planets, sub aquatic memories, experiences with strange mythological creatures, stellar travels, parallel dimensions, distorted realities and stories from the depths of the unconscious dark corners of our mind.

All through the prism of a lo-fi dreamer, capturing the aural fields of his REM sleep. Unearthly sketches unfold throughout the 45 mins duration of "oneirology" tape and take you to a unique wandering through the various sleep cycles. Illusionary, traumatic or reality? Does it really matter as long as this beautiful strange world already exists inside us and works as a healing process against our deepest fears while it secretly prepares our conscious to familiarise with our ethereal self?

The project was artistically curated by Roi U Alcocat
and the result smells like mystery while compliments the content in an imaginary way. Psychedelic and cosmic, it embraces a wider spectrum of surrealism.

Oneirology is one of those works that feels like contemporary library music to all extents. The interpretation of thematic musical memories of the past in a new school way works as a big continuum to the great european experimental compositional styles of the 60s throughout the 80s.
